What was the highlight of Hotel Cubanacan Comodoro
Worked for us We recently returned from a trip to Cuba with friends. Our first 5 nights and 4 days were spent in Havana. When I booked most of the downtown hotels were already booked. After discussion with our travel partners we decided to book at the Comodoro knowing it was an average Cuban hotel. When we checked in we were given rooms without hot water. However, a visit to the front desk and we were all moved to poolside rooms with hot water, fridges and television with clear pictures. The staff were extremely helpful, cheerful, and personable. The breakfast (included with room) was adequate- lots of fresh fruit, good breads, cheese, ham, an omelet bar. The poolside snackbar was a favourite spot for beers, sandwiches, bottled water and an update on weather and news from the waiters. If you are looking for luxury and very Americanized food this hotel is not for you; however, if you want a clean bed, a hot shower, and breakfast so you can spend your days and money touring Havana and eating dinners at the multitude of Havanan restaurants I recommend the Comodoro.
